Deposit and Final Payment

To reserve a GAP cruise or cruisetour, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. Deposits may be a flat rate per person or a percentage of the total trip cost, and the remaining balance is due 60-90 days prior to the departure date. Exact deposit amounts differ depending on the specific trip being purchased and will be confirmed at time of booking. Any clients 60 years of age and over or with preexisting medical conditions are required to complete a GAP medical form which must be signed and dated by a physician.

If the final balance is not paid within 60 days before departure (90 days before departure for Antarctica), GAP reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled.

If a booking is made 60 days or less before departure (90 days or less before departure for Antarctica), the full amount is due at the time of booking. For those bookings made within 15 days of departure, there will be a $25 fee charged to the file.

Cancellation and Refunds Cancellation and refund policies vary, with penalties increasing as the departure date approaches. Any cancellation must be made in writing and acknowledged by GAP Adventures. The date on which the letter is received by the company will determine the cancellation charge applicable. Exact cancellation charge will depend on the cruise or cruisetour purchased. If cancellation in writing is received, GAP will assess the following penalties:

Cruise lines do not refund in the event of "no shows," or interruption or cancellation by the guest after the start of the cruise. Please notify your Vacations To Go cruise counselor immediately of any cancellations or changes. The above charges do not include cancellation or change fees which may be applied by air carriers, hotels and/or other independent service suppliers. Within 60 to 90 days of departure (depending on itinerary) any amendments to a reservation will depend on availability and be on request basis. Any extra costs incurred will be charged. Any amendments made to a reservation within 30 to 10 days prior to departure (depending on itinerary) will be subject to a $25 amendment fee and any extra costs occurred will be charged. Within 10 days of departure, there will be no amendments made to a reservation. A transfer from one cruise to another can only be made more than 60 to 90 days before departure date (depending on itinerary). If such a request is accepted by the company then the company reserves the right to charge an administration fee of 10% of the value of the first booked cruise. Any request to transfer received less than 60 to 90 days before departure (depending on itinerary) will not normally be accepted. In this case the client must cancel the booking and then re-book on another cruise.

Timetables and rates are subject to change, and exceptions may apply for holiday sailings. Deposit, payment and cancellation terms differ for group bookings; please confirm payment and cancellation policies with your Vacations To Go cruise counselor. Changes to names or departure dates are subject to the cruise lines' discretion and may incur cancellation penalties.
